The NOAH'S ARK Appeal Charity Ride
On 2nd July 2010 I set off from South Quay in Pembroke, Wales, my home town, on a charity motorbike ride which took me to 14 children's hospitals in 14 European capital cities. The aim of the trip: to raise money & awareness for the Children's Hospital for Wales. 26 days and over 7000 miles/11000kms later, I arrived back in Pembroke. The ride was a great success and trouble free. All planned destinations were completed, most of the hospitals appreciated that I made an effort to visit and were very happy for the little gift that I offered them. Although I put lots of time into organising the trip, none of it would have been possible without the support of family, friends, locals of Pembrokeshire and of course many people across Europe who helped enormously during the trip.
This page is dedicated to all of you who got involved in your own way: be it time, money, expertise or just the friendly pat on the back with words of encouragement and support. Thank you all very very much for making this event possible and please keep an eye on this site, as 2013 could see another trip.

Oh, and of course, a very very big thank you to Nelly & Emma for letting me have time off to do it.
The Children's Hospital for Wales is here for exactly that. It took a long time to get our own Children's Hospital here in Wales, so I thought it best that we support it the best we can. Who knows when we will need it? Let's hope that most of us never have to take our children there but at the same time take comfort in knowing it is there with excellent staff and facilities...
SO PLEASE DONATE
The Children's Hospital for Wales was opened to patients with medical conditions and/or cancer in time for St Davids Day 2005 and was officially opened a year later. For the first time, Wales now has a purpose designed and state-of-the-art hospital to look after the healthcare of babies, children and young people.
The new hospital opened it's doors after years of planning, preparation and fund raising and for the first time patients were transferred to the bright and colourful new wards from the existing children's department at the adjoining University Hospital for Wales.
The Children's Hospital is a phased project which provides specialist paediatric care for patients from the whole of South Wales and beyond. Each year the trust deals with 36,000+ children's visits or admissions. The first phase included two 25 bed medical wards and one 16 bed paediatric cancer ward. There are treatment rooms, an oncology outpatients unit, play and education rooms and parents accommodation.
Phase two plans to house an intensive care unit, operating theatres and surgical wards. The building work has officially started. It is planned that phase two will be open for patients in the autumn of 2012.
I hope that what I raise will help in some way...
